The ICHRA has chosen Saturday, November 15, 2008, for the first-ever ICRHA  annual meeting. It will be held in the private meeting hall of the  Whistle Stop Restaurant, which is in the former Illinois Central  freight house at Mendota, Illinois. Event starts at 1 p.m. with a  railroadiana swap meet upstairs at the Whistle Stop. Free entry for  attendees; for vendor table availability, contact Mike Hogan at  mikeh@swllc.com .

Details for the dinner are yet to be finalized but will be announced soon. The after-dinner presentation is scheduled to be a slide show by  former IC agent/operator and signal maintainer Mike McBride on IC's  Charter Line between Freeport and Clinton, Illinois, also known as the  "Gruber" (on which Mendota is located).

The Whistle Stop is located next to the Amtrak station and Union  Depot Museum on the east side of downtown Mendota. There is a decent  view of the Mendota station and museum grounds and BNSF main line  from the show/banquet hall upstairs, so bring your cameras!
